Over the last few years, Seylan Bank PLC has offered Internet Payment Gateway solutions to a number of clients based locally as well as overseas.
This system provides customers with greater levels of convenience by virtually browsing the merchants’ goods on offer. By using a virtual “shopping cart”, customers finalize their purchases and make payment by credit card through the secure payment gateway provided by Seylan Bank.
The merchant in turn delivers the goods to the customer and in the process avoids unnecessary crowding of the counters / display areas and avoids other overhead expenses such as provision of parking space etc.
Merchants could also electronically track the type of goods and services that certain customers have purchased enabling them to create a profile of the customers and use them for future Customer Relationship Management (CRM) strategies.
